Rebecca Caudill Club

The Rebecca Caudill Reading Club is for fourth and fifth graders who love to read. The club centers around the "Rebecca Caudill Young Readers` Book Award," which is a state-wide competition that crowns Illinois` book of the year each spring. Students in IL between 4th and 8th grade are eligible to participate in the award each year. Our club has the following goals:

1. To read (as individuals) and discuss (as a group) at least three of the Rebecca Caudill nominees so that each member is eligible to vote in February

2. To promote the reading of Rebecca Caudill books to other 4th and 5th graders

3. To hold an election in February in which eligible 4th and 5th graders can vote for the book they liked the best

4. To count votes and report the results to the state-wide committee

5. To recommend future nominees for the Rebecca Caudill Young Readers` Book Award

For more information on the Rebecca Caudill award or to see a list of this year`s nominees, see the official website: RCYRBA.org
